  1. Why Llamas?
    Our Llamas add a new dimension to a wilderness experience and are right at home on the most rugged mountain trail.

  2. Are Llamas cooperative?
    The natural curiosity and intelligence of llamas makes them outstanding packing partners. Llamas can be handled by people of all ages and without experience. By trek's end, you will have a new hiking companion.

  3. How safe are Llama of West Yellowstone treks?
    The physical safety of each trekker is a priority with Llamas of West Yellowstone. Each of our guides holds a current Yellowstone Guide Certification and a valid first aid certification.

  4. How can participants prepare for a hike?
    Participants should be in good general health, as treks require at least some walking at higher elevations. Guests should be prepared for a variety of mountain weather conditions and the possibility of some cold temperature. Rain gear and warm clothing are essential.

  5. Are pets allowed on treks?
    Due to safety factors and in accordance with National Park policy, pets are NOT allowed.

  6. What does Llamas of West Yellowstone provide?
    Llamas of West Yellowstone provides all food and beverages, tents, sleeping bags & pads, all trail and camp supplies. Each person may bring up to 20 pounds of personal gear.

  7. What type of items do you suggest we bring?
    A: We suggest comfortable hiking shoes, layered clothing which can accommodate various weather temperatures and conditions, and any personal items which are necessary.
