What (Class title or special event) |
We are doing something new with our classes this year.
We don't plan to have lot of formal classes, but instead just gatherings with a "learn how" portion and food to coordinate with the project. Invite a friend to join you and think of it as going out for lunch with a fun activity thrown in. On top of those great options you'll have a chance to make new friends or reconnect with old ones.
We would love it if you would give us ideas of classes you would like. We can prepare special events for you and your friends. If you are hosting a family reunion ask us to come up with a special demonstration or class. Let us entertain a birthday gal and her family or friends. Let us plan something wonderful for you. We'll prepare some tasty food. What could be more fun!!

REALLY, REALLY EASY LONE STAR QUILT
If you haven’t tried the Quilt Smart fusible products you should! Use the Lone Star fusible to make a perky small quilt. It’s the traditional look but with an amazing easy twist on the construction process. Your points can’t be anything but perfect. You’ll be amazed. If you use some of the flamboyant floral (good for Valentines) in the large square corner blocks you’ll have a knock out project.
Choose some happy fabric. Spending time with Kristin is always a delight. Join her
If you can’t make it to class we can put a kit together for you. Following the pattern booklet is a snap.

FAST FUNDAMENTALS CLASS
I calculate I’ve commensed more than 1000 students in quilting with this class which teaches the basics of fast machine piecing and quilt as you go techniques. The first session starts with a fabric selection segment which I’ve been told is invaluable. I’ve slowed the pace down and added a class, plus the 5 class sessions are nicely spaced for homework. If you need to miss a class we will figure out the scheduling to accommodate you. Did you see all the wonderful quilts from this class at our outdoor show in August?
I made blocks along with the students in the last series of classes. Sprinkled here are some of the blocks I’ve been working on. The ones created with the Kaffe-like fabric will become a sampler of the blocks which are made in the class plus the optional ones.
Also, I’ve had fun playing with the class concepts to make blocks that will eventually become a Checker board tablecover. It’s been lots of fun to work alongside the students as they make their blocks. I have a renewed interest in the history of the blocks and my passion for patchwork.
|
| If by chance you have an unfinished Fast Fundamentals project just begging to be finished, Email me or call (406-587-8216). I’d like to have a reunion of past students who would like to pick up unfinished projects. There would be no charge for that class.

RECYCLING WITH ART AND AN OLD SWEATSHIRT
Learn to use art, old photographs, or favorite fabric to create a one of a kind jacket. Whenever I wear this jacket I get questions and lots of comments about what I’m wearing! It’s fun to explain my granddaughters art, especially her silly 6 year old line drawing of me with huge toes. You’ll need an old worn sweatshirt to use as foundation for the piecing. If you don’t have art to use select a piece of fabric that you really love to use as the inspiration. The high quality Giclee art prints would be great to use for the project, too. We have prints with gardening themes and many others. It’s really fun to create a piece like this one!

HUNTER'S STAR QUILT
Juli Rognlie demonstrated how to make this quilt in August at our quilt show. Now is your chance to actually set aside some time to make one yourself.
Using a unique ruler, learn a totally new way to make a Hunter's Star quilt that gives very accurate results for what used to be a challenging block. Juli doesn't often use specialty rulers, but she has totally fallen in love with this one. It offers the ability to easily vary the size of your block and quilt. Even those of you who are left-handed will love this -- the illustrations are provided for both right and left handed trimming!
