Visual Basic Resources

I have already used this service to get a free IPOD, now I am trying to get a free laptop. Click on this link and fill out the offer to get started on getting your Free Laptop. You only have to get 10 of your friends to do the same and you get the laptop. I did it with the IPOD and I got it in the mail. Try it out, it works!

Books

  • Teach Yourself Visual Basic 5 in 24 Hours - This doesn't really mean anyone can complete the course in a single 24-hour day, however. Students who have little programming experience can expect to spend between 1 and 2 hours on each lesson, including the time for doing the hands-on examples and exercises. Typical completion time for the course is about 1 quarter, or 12 weeks. This site has the entire book online, and it is set up like an online class. Best of all it is all free.

  • Using Visual Basic 6 - This is set up the same as above, you can read the entire book online. Like above it is set up like an online class, and it is all free.

Magazines

  • ADVISOR Technical Magazines - $$ - You can either order magazines in printed form, or back issues on a CD-ROM. Although you have to pay to get the magazine, you can view a few sample articles to see if you like them.

  • VBWire - VBWire is a source of Visual Basic news. They claim to scour the net every day to bring you the hottest news so you don't have to. VBWire covers everything from new product announcements to product reviews, press articles, books, seminars and VB web site announcements.

  • Visual Basic Online Magazine - This site is an E-Zine. It is free and has product reviews, tips and tricks, employment opportunities, a full product catalog, and a contest. It develops a new issue each month and is a great place to stay updated on all the aspects of Visual Basic.

  • Visual Basic Web Magazine - This site has links for VB programmers to find jobs, tips, examples, and sample source code. It is entirely online, and you can give them your email to subscribe to their electronic newsletter.

  • Australian Visual Developers Forum - This site is an E-Zine it is published bi-monthly. It has information about programming in Visual Basic, Delphi, Internet development and other visual languages. You can subscribe to their mailing list if you want to be notified anytime the page is updated.
