A reader of my WWW pages suggested that I write on near-death experiences. I do not know a lot about this subject, nor am I particularly interested in it. But, I do have a couple of comments, which may be worth thinking about. People sometimes claim that they have caught a glimpse of Heaven (never Hell?) when they almost die (a few were actually declared dead, and then came back to life). They claim to have seen a bright light, and maybe amorphous human-like beings. When you die (or almost die), it is almost always because of lack of oxygen to the brain. Heart attack, bleeding, drowning, and most other causes of death all result in lack of oxygen to the brain. In that situation, you are a prime candidate for hallucinations. I would not trust what you reported, once you are revived. Certainly, near-death (like less dramatic recoveries) is likely to be a religious experience. But I don't think you were temporarily in Heaven. Sorry.

I received this in response to the above. It doesn't seem to be a near-death experience, but instead is either a joke or a halucination along with typical new age mysticism:

In April 1978 I had such an experience, when I was 18 years old. That was much more as phantasy, because of there was the time opened. I met a friend in the future, to inform him, that I am living although I am dead. I didn´t know my friend in 1978, and met him first in 1979, when I changed my residence. My experience was, as if I would fly over a lake, where my future-friend was in holydays. I was for some moments over his head, crying his name. For him it was like a blinking, small and white "tornado", he fell to the ground and was very scared. These were only some moments from something, what I would call "universal seeing". It comes from, if the oxygen "explodes" in the brain and melts some cell surfaces in the area of the so called "third eye" (pineal gland). If the melatonine is in a special condition, the melting process melts the optical nerves back to the roots, on the right more as on the left hemisphere. The right hemisphere gets fully "switched off" because of the hot, boiling liquor.
There is a main system we live in and all the descriptions of UFO´s and holy seeings have to do with it. But the human beeings are too limited to understand it - it is more complicated as the evolution theory. And the people don´t know, what they should believe in.
The soul, inside, is like a "radio genome", like a pattern on a wave. Be sure, that we are NOT alone and in contact with elder "patterns".

If I write more, you will be wondering about this things. You will say, that I am crazy or sick in my head. But I am only a technician, family father with three children and normal person with special remembrance from that experience. I am a modern thinking European, but I always was from my instinct a religious person - not in the fundamental way, because in Europe these people are scary and think, the "sheeps" must be held poor and crazy. God likes freedom, isn´t it? When I was younger, I tried to find the truth and thought, I can find it at the bottom of my heart, but found there sometimes "good weather" and sometimes black pain. That was the most philosopical problem, this turbulences in the heart.
Maybe, you heared about "chakras" from the buddhism. That doesn´t mean, that buddhism is the "right" religion. I am a catholic christian and there is also the same, called "heart of christ". This area, also known in the hinduism and in some nature religions, played the main, but not the only role, when I was near death. It is, as if the "alpha" and "omega" are connected here on both sides of a flat layer. But there also is a gate, connecting the "third eye" as virtual projection to the heart chakra and from there to the forehead. It would be necessary to describe this from different points, to understand.
The system we live in is very "twisted" and I can´t explain all in one mail. It must be understood step-by-step, because it comes from the spirit (logos), but works in a direct way in the human body. Some things are represented by hormones, other things not. The higher levels are not "mechanical", like the sciences want. If I write from one thing, it is like a puzzle to be stored for later total-sights. There is nothing wrong, but some things seem to be from long time ago, when our chromosomes were not in the same or in another form as today. Some parts of the experience are very realistic. Other parts, I would call it "over"- and "under"-realistic, are not too abstract to realize, what happens. The "under"-realistics sometimes look like dreams or phantasy. They are not as interesting as the "over"-realistics, but they show some fundamental functions of the dying body, like the change of normal breathing to a form of gill breathing, the function of hairs in conjunction with small pieces of the consciousness of the "radio genome", the "fight with the dragon", for me oxytocine, a human hormone, and so on.
I made some descriptions from that experience, but have not ended it until today (I´m very busy in my small company). Some of the most important things are: - I "exploded" out of my body through the left and through the right eye - I went out of my "cooking" brain through the skullcap. Before that I sank down in my body like a small being. This motion ended in the heart chakra. I looked down and saw very heavy black mass, pulling from the heart chakra into the earth and from there to other planets. After a short time came out of this "black hole" an enormous mass of a hot boiling, very white radiation. This radiation was not only from oxygen; it was like a spacetime-different energy-difference between the dead body and an embryonal status. Later I saw a "virtual embryo", growing in my dead body. Be sure, that´s real and no crazy phanatsy. There are unknown functions of "self-fertilization" from special cells in the human brain - would be good to know it to heal some sicknesses. - I left my body in different slower forms with more and less more "realistics" - one of the most interesting things: I waked up in a system to the right of my dead body. In this system the planets of the solar system and some chromosomal phenomenas play a main role.
