Jim Loy's Chess Page

These pages are dedicated to the memory of Frank Marshall (1877-1944), one of the main inspirations for my chess "career" (along with Bobby Fischer, Mikhail Tal, and Ljubomir Ljubojevic). His style was brilliant and attacking, often from the dullest of openings. His annotations of his game with Amos Burn, Paris 1900 (game #9 in Marshall's book) was also an inspiration for some of my silly humor.

The most common injury in chess: Getting your king stuck in your eye, when you doze off (Checkers is much safer).

There is luck in chess. My opponent was lucky that he was playing against an idiot.
