This game was called Wiswell's Swindle, as he wins in an ending position, the diagram, which looks dead drawn. It is from Wiswell's Checkers in Ten Lessons.

(4-8 draws, Wiswell) [diagram]

a famous endingWhite's win is a great and beautiful surprise: 31-26! 32-27 2-6 27-31 6-9 31-22 9-13 4-8 28-24 8-11 24-19 WW.

On the right, we see a famous ending with the same winning idea: 6-2 (or 6-1) 24-27 2-6 27-31 6-9 31-22 9-13 WW. Undoubtedly, Wiswell was familiar with that ending. I found it in Hester's Defiance.
