Stories From Shakespeare - by Marchette Chute

Book Review, © Copyright 1999, Jim Loy

I am sure we would all like to see or read all of Shakespeare's plays. Nowadays, we can rent many of them on video tape. But, there are some that we never see, and we never have time to read them. They take a couple of hours to perform. Why do they take days to read? This book should help you quite a bit. It tells all of the stories of Shakespeare's plays, briefly, and well. For example, Ms. Chute's version of King Lear is fascinating. I guess the story sticks in my mind more readily, because the story is shorter and is written in modern English (with many of the quotes in the original older English). I like this book.
