Tory Travers is an lady engineer who keeps stumbling onto murders. David Alvarez is a smart alecky cop. They don't get along, but they really do get along. And the chemistry between these two characters is very good; it really works. The stories are well-told. For example, I normally don't care about ugly politics; but when it came up in a couple of these stories, I was fascinated. I guess I cared about the characters. There are four books, so far:
