Pale Fire - by Vladimir Nabokov

Book Review, © Copyright 2000, Jim Loy

This amazing novel is a long poem (999 lines), by John Shade (fictional character) followed by a lengthy "commentary" by Charles Kinbote (also fictional). The commentary is a little bizarre, and becomes more so as the story goes on. The entire idea is fascinating and (as I said above) amazing.
