The Second Foundation Trilogy

The late great Isaac Asimov wrote the original award-winning Foundation Trilogy:

1. Foundation
2. Foundation and Empire
3. Second Foundation

The trilogy became seven books with Foundation's Edge, Foundation and Earth, Prelude to Foundation, and Forward the Foundation. And several of Asimov's previous books and stories fit into the same universe: Robots and Empire, I, Robot, Pebble in the Sky, The Naked Sun, The Caves of Steel, The Stars Like Dust, Currents of Space.

Now we have an excellent second Foundation trilogy (by the Killer B's):

1. Foundation's Fear by Gregory Benford
2. Foundation and Chaos by Greg Bear
3. Foundation's Triumph by David Brin

These three books are about the life of Hari Seldon (with his friend R. Daneel Olivaw) who was a mythic figure who influenced events from beyond the grave in the original Foundation trilogy.
