Many pool players do not stretch as far as they can. I see a lot
of players who cannot stretch their bridge hands to the middle of a seven-foot
pool table. They end up with a really long bridge, or having to use a
mechanical bridge when they don't need to. I think that people who are about
five feet tall should be able to stretch about to the middle of a seven-foot
table. The secret is to stand on the toes of one foot (red circle in the
drawing). Stand upright at the table. Stand on the toes of both feet as you
lean the front of your thighs against the table. Then lift your back leg as you
lean your body over the table to rest some of your weight onto your bridge
hand. All of this should feel natural, after you do it a few times.
