Pool players often have nicknames, Fats, Boston Shorty, Machine Gun, The Magician. Well, my team calls me Bad Boy Loy. This would seem to be a joke, like calling a big guy Tiny. I'm kind of a quiet, polite guy, actually.
I didn't like that name, Bad Boy Loy. I have suggested other names, like The Pool God, or El Magnifico, or Humble Jim. But, it doesn't work. I told this to a friend of mine, and he called me El Magnifico, and I had to cringe. I guess that Bad Boy Loy is the least offensive of many alternatives.
So, I guess I will go with Bad Boy Loy. But, remember that it is a joke. I'm not really a bad boy, Mom.
