- Visions of Grace: Robert Redford and
"The Horse Whisperer." A one-hour Lifetime Special
documentary about the background and production of the
Touchstone Pictures feature film. Produced for Buena
Vista Pictures Television.
- "The Horse Whisperer" - Electronic Press Kit. Promotional
featurettes, behind-the-scenes B-roll, and interview soundbites
for the feature film's electronic press materials. Produced
for the Walt Disney Company/Touchstone Pictures/Buena Vista
Pictures Marketing.
- Bridgehampton. A six-minute animated film produced,
directed, and animated by celebrated animator John Canemaker.
The abstract meditation on the Long Island town features music
by composer and jazz performer Fred Hersch. Included in the
Canemaker retrospective showing at New York's Museum of
Modern Art (MOMA). Hunter Neil served as Executive Producer.
- Test Pilots of the Body
One-hour public television documentary about the bone marrow
transplant unit at the UCLA Medical Center. The program follows
six patients and three doctors through two years of the procedure.
Co-produced with Montana Public Television and Martina
Kreidl. Funded by several major pharmaceutical companies,
including SmithKline Beecham, Hoffman-La Roche, Schering-Plough,
and Immunex. Winner of three festival honors.
- In the Prime - "Bridging the Gap." A segment on
generational issues in a ranching family for the nationally
distributed public television magazine show.
Produced for WETA/PBS.
- Sacred Journey of the Nez Perce. A co-production
of Montana Public Television and Idaho Public Television.
A one-hour public television documentary about Chief Joseph
and the Nez Perce War of 1877 from the perspective of Nez Perce
oral tradition. Funded by the Corporation for Public
Broadcasting through the Pacific Mountain Network (PMN),
the Montana and Idaho Humanities Committees, and several
foundations. Winner of thirteen festival awards and honors,
including a Gold Medal from the New York Festival and a
Regional Emmy.
- Black Hawk Waltz: Tales of a Rocky Mountain Town.
A co-production of the Hunter Neil Company and Wakan Productions.
An oral history documentary of the Colorado mining town from
its beginnings as an 1850s gold rush town to a 1990s casino
gaming center. Produced for the City of Black Hawk. Shown
on the History Channel and selected public television stations.
Winner of several awards, including a Gold Telly.
- State Farm Insurance Commercial. National commercial
production managed for Cucoloris Films of Los Angeles.
- Confessions of a Stand-Up. An animated short produced,
directed, and animated by John Canemaker. Hunter Neil executive
produced the work, which has been broadcast internationally.
Winner of a Regional Emmy, a Chris Award, a Telly, and several
other honors. Included in the Canemaker retrospective showing
at the New York Museum of Modern Art (MOMA).
- Lou Gossett, Jr/Atrial Fibrillation PSA. National PSA
featuring the Oscar-winning star. Production managed for 1351
Productions of Chicago. Funded by the American Heart Association.
- NOVA - In Search of the First Language. Production
managed segment filmed on the Salish-Kootenai Reservation
for the primetime PBS program.
- Shadow Casting: The Making of "A River Runs Through It."
A one-hour documentary about the making of the now classic
Robert Redford film. Broadcast on selected public television
stations and the Americana Cable Network as well as
internationally. A co-production of The Hunter Neil Company,
Montana Public Television, and Silent Pictures with assistance
from KBYU Public Television. Funders included the Grand Marnier
Foundation, Paul Mitchell Salon Haircare, Eddie Bauer, Inc.,
and Haagen-Dazs. Winner of 14 major honors, including a Gold
Hugo from the Chicago Film Festival, a Gold Apple from the
National Educational Film and Video Festival, a Chris Award,
and an Ohio State Award.
- HBO First Look: Twilight of the West - Reflections
on "A River Runs Through It." Provided on-location footage
for this half-hour program produced by Eye-to-Eye Productions of
Los Angeles and Columbia Pictures for HBO.
- Sharing the Caring: Adult Day Care. An examination of
the philosophy and implementation of adult day care. A
co-production of Montana Public Television and the National
Institute for Adult Day Care. Funded by the Ross Laboratories
Division of Abbott Laboratories, the Washington, D.C., Council
on the Aging. Winner of the 1993 National institute of Adult
Day Care (NIAD) Media Award.
