I just read the Eric Adelson article in the recent ESPN magazine.  First I want to express my heart felt sorrow for your loss.  I have a 4 month old boy that I hope some day will play the great game of baseball.  As a former Little League coach I did not like the use of aluminum bats.  I am a traditionalist of the game and it was meant to be played with wood bats.  Metal bats don't level the playing field, the endanger the playing field.  Keep your spirits up, and continue to push for change as we all should do!
