Hi, my name is Andrew, I'm 16 and from Sonoma, California. I read about Brandon's story in ESPN magazine and decided to write an email to offer my condolences and to say that reading your story makes me want to do something about metal bats. Just a few days ago, I was at a batting cage with my dad at our local field and the pitching machine has a manual ball feeder. I was using a metal bat, and when my dad fed a ball into the machine, I hit a line drive straight back to the machine, it hit a panel on the front and flew back and hit me in the leg before I could even react. Then I read Brandon's story and realized how unsafe they really are. I am going to get a wood bat as soon as I can, and next baseball season, I am going to use a wood bat, no matter how much my coach protests. The magazine also mentioned that you didn't have an answering machine, and if you still don't have one, I would gladly send you one so you wouldn't have to worry about missing a call from a bat company or other important calls. Thanks for your story.
Best Wishes,
Andrew
