Description

Verdict: Very good rose so far in spite of mild fragrance. A rose that looks like that should be a stinker.

Acquired: 2002

Brand: J&P

Bush

Growth habit : 4 ft tall x 3 ft wide - thick foliage! I like it.

Leaves:

Disease Resistance: Blackspot is only a problem here on new or stressed plants. Powdery mildew is the main problem and I try to spray the roses that get pm with fungicide every 2 weeks or so when we have cool, dry nights. Gemini will get pm if not sprayed here. Not a pm magnet but it will get a touch of the stuff.

Hardiness: Fair - Gemini has only been through 2 winters and has done better than expected.

Blooms

Fragrance: Mild

Flushes: Good - 20 to 30+ blooms - I like the bloom form and color on the smaller flushes. Gemini almost blooms too much for a young plant. I can deal with complaints like that.

Repeat: Average - 6 weeks

Vase life: Good - a week +

Silly Stuff

Kim Martin barraged me with pics and great reports about Gemini until we had to give it a try. Thank you Kim. Gemini is looking like everything you said it would be.
