Description

Verdict: Very good rose. Not as many blooms as her parents but worth having for the ones she has and the wonderful fragrance.

Acquired: 2001 - it usually takes a rose 3 seasons to get established with our short bloom season. Optimistic about 2004 for this stinker.

Brand:

Bush

Growth habit : The bush is planted in a spot that only gets sun until noon or a little later. Not particularly vigorous so far, Dolly gets almost 4 ft tall x 3 ft wide. Foliage is not sparse but isn't thick enough for a foliage nut.... yet, I hope.

Leaves:

Disease Resistance: We don't have much of a problem with blackspot here. Powdery mildew is the worst problem when we have cool nights and I try to spray fungicide every 2 to 3 weeks. PM hasn't been a problem with Dolly here. Never seen more than a touch of it on her.

Hardiness: Needs some protection

Blooms

Fragrance: Strong

Flushes: 12 to 15 blooms - large blooms with pretty good form.

Repeat: a little on the slow side - 6 to 7 weeks - may get better as the bush gets more established.

Vase life: Good - about a week
