TRACKING MONTANA'S WEATHER

With the right links and good software, the Internet can prove to be a better and quicker source of up to date weather information than the Weather Channel or local TV.

WEATHER SITES ON THE INTERNET

American Weather Concepts A new weather site that has some good weather links although most of the graphics are only available to paying customers.

Montana Weather This gopher site has updated weather information and forecasts. This link came from the AWC site above, but this link will take you direct to the Montana menu.

Universal Weather - Montana Another test based site for weather information in case the above site is busy. If you want other states, leave the last part of the address off.

Doppler Radar The latest radar image if you want to know the precipitation outlook. And its national.

National Weather Service

The Weather NetUniversity of Michigan weather page with links to weather sites and weather cams (one is in Bozeman).

The Daily Planet University of Illinois site that features a multimedia guide to meteorology.

WEATHER TRACKING SOFTWARE

WinWeather This is the ultimate software for monitoring the weather forecasts if you are using Windows 3.1. WinWeather 2.0 automatically loads up the latest weather (temperature, humidity, wind, barometric pressure, and two day forecast) information for two cities of your choice. This is quicker than the Weather Channel!

Wetsock For Windows95 users, WetSock may work better than WinWeather. It connects to the dialup adaptor and it will update the weather as soon as it detects that you are connected to the Internet. A small icon stays in the startup window, and its appearance (clouds, sun, snow) reflects the actual weather conditions. It also gives you the temperature, humidity, wind, barometric pressure, and the forecast. It does not give you the image options (radar) that WinWeather gives, however.

Since this page is new, I am still adding links, testing them, and enhancing this page. So if you find any problems or have links I should add, let me know.
