The Internet wizard will detect the MS Exchange program and prompt you for the information needed to configure it for Internet mail. It will make an Internet Mail service available to Exchange, as well as ask you for the mail server address (imt.net), your email address, mailbox name (your username), and mailbox password. Once installed, Internet Mail should work properly. If not, or you wish to change your Internet Mail settings, use the Control Panel steps below to reconfigure your settings for Internet Mail.

Configuring Internet Mail Settings

If you wish to change your Internet Mail settings, press the Start button, select Settings, then Control Panel. Double-click the Mail and Fax icon. The MS Exchange Settings Properties dialog box will appear. Select Internet Mail from the list of services and choose Properties. You should get the Internet Mail properties dialog.

Fill in the Personal Information section with your name and your full email address (username@imt.net).

Next, fill in the Mailbox Information with your Internet mail server address (imt.net). Then put in your mail account name and password (these are usually the same as your regular username and password you use to log on with).

Using Exchange and Internet Mail

Find the Inbox icon on your desktop and double-click it to open Exchange.

Select Tools from the toolbar and then Deliver Now. Or alternately, you could press the ctrl and M keys on your keyboard. If you had mail waiting, it should appear in the window. If you have no mail waiting, send a message to yourself to test your connection. Refer to the Exchange online help files for additional instructions.

Using Exchange for Internet Email and Faxes

In order to use Exchange for Internet email as well as outgoing faxes, you will need to set up an additional profile. If you have problems with multiple delivery types, refer to the Exchange online help files for instructions on setting up a new profile, then use one profile for mail, the other for faxes.
