Internet Explorer 4 Complete Setup

NOTE: You may be prompted for your Windows 95 CD or diskettes to complete this install.

Step 1. Double-click on the Internet Explorer icon. Do you see the Get Connected window?

If No, click the Start button, then select Settings and then Control Panel. Double click the Internet icon. Click the Connection tab. Click the Connect button. Go to Step 2.

Step 2. Click Next.

Step 3.

Select: I want to set up a new connection on this computer to my existing Internet account using my phone line or local area network. Click Next. I want to set up a new connection on this computer to my existing Internet account using my phone line or local area network Next


Step 4. Connect using my phone line Next

Step 5.
In the Set Up Your Internet Connection window, select Connect using my phone line. Click Next. In the Phone Number window, enter the access number for your area. Set Up Your Internet Connection Phone Number

Take the check mark out of "Dial using area code and country code". Click Next.


Step 6.

In the Username and Password window, type your username and password. NOTE: Your username must be in lowercase, do not add @imt.net. Click Next.

In the Advanced Settings window, (not shown) select No, then click Next.

In the Dial-Up Connection Name window, (not shown) enter "Internet Montana" in the box labeled Connection name. Click Next.


Email Setup

In the Set Up Your Internet Mail Account window, (not shown) select "Yes", Click Next.

If you see the window labeled Setting Up Internet Mail Account instead, select "Create a new Internet Mail Account", then click Next

Enter your name in the box labeled Display name. Click Next


Enter your email address in the box labeled: E-mail address. 

Click Next. 
NOTE: Your email address must be entered all lowercase


For "My incoming mail server is a", Select POP3.

Enter imt.net in the box labeled: Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server.

Enter imt.net in the box labeled: Outgoing mail (SMTP) server. Click Next


In the window labeled: Internet Mail Logon,Select Log on using POP account name, and type your username in the box. You must use lowercase letters. Do not include the @imt.net . Leave the password box empty. Click Next


Friendly Name  

In the box labeled: Internet mail account name, enter Internet Montana Mail. Click Next.


Newsgroup Setup

In the Set Up Your Internet News Account window, (not shown)  Select "Yes" to set up an internet news account. Click Next.

In the Your Name window (not shown) Type in your name as you would like it to appear in the headers of your responses. Click Next.

Enter your email address. Click Next.


Enter news.imt.net in the box labeled News (NNTP) server.

Do not check My news server rerquires me to log on. Click Next.


Type: Internet Montana News in the box labeled Internet news account name. Click Next.


Set Up Your Internet Directory Service:

Select "No". Click Next.


To complete the setup, click Finish.

Double-click the Internet icon to connect
